Steve and Terri Springer first crossed paths while serving on the Board of Retail Science at the University of Houston — two professionals with deep roots in the retail management world who shared a vision to create something extraordinary.
With Terri's extensive background in retail management and Steve's lifelong connection to tailoring, they combined decades of industry experience to build a menswear company unlike any other in Houston.
Together, they've created more than a business — they've built a destination where craftsmanship meets concierge-level service, and where every gentleman who walks through the door is treated like family.
Our Story
Three Generations of Excellence
The BLU Fine Menswear story doesn't begin in a showroom. It begins on the deck of a WWII aircraft carrier, where Steve Springer's grandfather served as the ship's tailor — keeping officers dressed with precision and pride, thousands of miles from shore.
Back home, Steve's great-grandmother was building her own legacy as a seamstress at Neiman Marcus, dressing Dallas's most discerning clients from the 1930s through the 1970s. Four decades of craftsmanship, one stitch at a time.
Today, Steve and Terri carry that heritage forward in Houston's Heights neighborhood. BLU Fine Menswear is Houston's premier destination for custom suits, bespoke tailoring, and luxury menswear — the culmination of three generations of understanding what it means to dress a man well.

A Family Legacy
Grandfather — WWII Ship Tailor
Steve's grandfather served as the tailor aboard a WWII aircraft carrier, keeping officers dressed with precision and pride thousands of miles from shore. His dedication to craft under the most demanding conditions set the standard for generations to come.
Great-Grandmother — Neiman Marcus, 1930s
Steve's great-grandmother spent four decades as a seamstress at Neiman Marcus in Dallas, dressing the city's most discerning clients from the 1930s through the 1970s. Her eye for detail and devotion to quality lives on in every BLU garment.
